Ok you say you are getting a refund , I thought you might of had to return the TD springs , do you get a refund and keep both set of TD springs ? what about the shocks ?

If you still have em , he will be able to use them .

That's why I was gonna go buy something so I had a set and could drive.

The shocks are fine nothing wrong with them

The saga continues.

Went back to factory springs with extended shackles.

Knocking still there?!!!

Soooo it's either my tub ( even though bolts are ridiculously tight) orrr shocks

I think I mentioned this to you but they had a crook batch of shock rubbers a while back so although you would have seen the lowers when changing the springs make sure you check the uppers and if you've got the oem shocks put them back in or drive it without shocks altogether to rule that out (safe enough with leaf springs not so much with coils).

I once pulled a Datsun motor out and down to it's last nuts and bolts looking for a ticking noise 3 times over a 4 week period (nearly threw it out!) and it turned out after the 3rd tear down that the dipstick was slightly bent and touching the crankshaft....moral of the story-check for the simple bloody obvious things...overlook nothing.

Might as well put the TD springs back in?

Perhaps it is the spare wheel which is knocking. Has anyone ruled it out of the equation?

Can't be valve caps in the ashtray.

Probably not helpful in my situation , but as Danno suggested, check the shock uppers. Have had knocking and groaning in my other car (Toyota Aurion) and on my inspection the shock uppers had disintegrated on both sides if it's the same thing as Danno is referring to. Apparently it's common in that car. Had new shocks put in last week and all good now. Just my 2 bob but hope you get it sorted.

Thanks guys.
The shocks have been taken out.
I'm unsure Wether it was top or bottom but rubbers where replaced.

I had a spring guy look at it.
He was certain it was the spring pack rubbing. After 4 sets of Springs I'm now positive it's not leafs.
I've taken tub liner out. Still there. I've taken spare tyre out. Still there checked every exhaust mount tub mount chassis mount.

To be honest my main focus was the leafs.
Buttttt Monday my car gets tuned. Mate who's tunin is very handy with 4x4s and cars in general so his goin to take shocks out look drive it without shocks in. And look over shocks for me. And hopefully diagnose it.

Tough dog springs got returned today and they refunded me.

I'll keep yous posted. Thanks for advice.

Jeez Gmax what a PITA , what about the tow bar , it's not trying trying to fall off is it , what about the auto trans , transfer case mounts , cracked chassis doubt it but ya never know . Have you tried it with a load in the Tub .

I have been for a ride with Gmax and yeah I would be trying to track the noise down if it was mine .

Perhaps we should go for a real good drive in the Bush , have a crack at some Double Black Diamond tracks , see if anything falls off . :D

Rear bars fine.

I haven't checked gear box mounts actually.
Yeh tried with a load in tub. Still does it.

Hopefully tomorrow it'll be sorted
