Hi guys, keep reading and hearing good things about Bilsteins, so as part of my suspension upgrade I wanted to start with good shocks.
I enquired about purchasing these through local suppliers and was surprised at the price. I finally sourced them from the US for approx half price delivered  Why does a shock made in Germany, sent to the US and the posted over to me, be almost 50% cheaper? I do get that I wont have local warranty, if it fails, but then I can buy another whole set and break even.
FYI. Rear Part number I used was B46-0258 (24-002585). They are sittng in my tray, unfitted atm so I hope they fit! There was no matching front strut part avail that I could find. I Bought mine from e-shocks.

Will be interested to see how they have valved the Billies. Two different importers of them into Australia and they each specify different valving. One is hard and the other is more compliant. Read a few complaints about the harder valving so I went for the other.

Oh, and my locally supplied Billies have a 5 year warranty. That's confidence in your product :D

I ordered billi'es from the US for my Hilux 4.5yrs ago still awesome as the day i put them in.

Tink which mob is which for those billilli'es?

Thinking of changing the front shocks on the max and would want the softer option .

Tink do you have a part number for the front struts and just to confirm they are the softer valving :?

Thanks ....... Simon

Hello Isuzu owners I’ve been long time onlooker but first time publisher and in past few weeks have also purchased a new 2015 SX D-max.

My question relates to previous post relating to ‘Summit’ racing equipment website and their Bilstein 4600 series (rear) shocks part No. 24-002585.

When looking a little further into these (rear) shocks I noticed that when clicked on the ‘Applications’ tab it highlighted that these shocks are suitable for a 1975 – 1982 Toyota Landcruiser.

Base on this information relating the (rear) shocks I searched (Bilstein 1975 – 1982 Toyota Landcruiser on the ‘Summit’ website and found a matching Bilstein 4600 series (front) shock with the part No. 24-002486.

My question to those who know much more than me, because this is a huge stab in the dark is – will these front shocks be suitable for a 2012+ Isuzu Dmax based on the information that both the 24-002585 & 24-002486 are suitable for a Toyota 1975 – 1982 Landcruiser? and could you use them when matched with suitable springs in a 2’ lift?

Thankyou for your help.

Regards Matt

Hi
Front shocks Bilstein 24-233071 and 24-230780
Rear 24-233088 and 24-002585.

Your Toyota shock 24-002486 looks like a rear shock, from memory they had leaf springs up front.
front Dmax shock should look like these go down 6 post viewtopic.php?f=16&t=965&start=20 ( Thanks Jim )

The 24-002585 are too short for a lifted Dmax

The 24-233088 are good to go

G'day Zordo, wondered when you would find your way onto here. I was your first current Dmax with Billies.

Hi Zordo, welcome. Are you sure? I use 24-002585 / B46-0258. It fits ok. My installer did not comment on being over extended or the like. What am I risking by using it, will it fail early or not perform as well (although it seems to) or something else?

I did some research before ordering, and found it as the listed part used by Fulcrum, for their Bilstein lift kit:http://www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au/isuzu

PS. If I given other forum readers the wrong part information, I do apologise for this bum steer. Please use the expert advice when offered, not mine :)

There will be no damage using the 24-002585. you will only limit the down travel at the rear.
If you are paying the money best to get the right shocks.
I have another guy with a D40 with 40mm of droop & not happy & guess who did his suspension [fulcr+++

Some 4wd suspension places just sell out of a catalogue
Cheers
