Jeez, me whinging again.

I sacked my last mechanic because I found I was having to check everything. Something didn't get done, or not put back, or not screwed up tight, or 'these don't have a cabin / air cond filter', brake line & fuel line full of air after service, etc etc.

This mechanic turns out similar. Tidier, more 'professional', ie I'm not allowed to walk into the workshop to see what they're doing. But the air cond fan is making new noises after a service, and the glove box is not re-fitted properly, gaps around the plastic.

So the big question - is there a good mechanic in Adelaide (pref eastern suburbs) that I can trust to do it right, or is this just what I will have to put up with?

The reason the fan is making a noise is most probably because some crap which was on top of the filter was scraped off and fell into the fan blades when filter was slid out. They didn’t run fan with filter out to check apparently.
Maybe the actual person who did the floater replacement isn’t skilled enough. It is mundane stuff though.

You're right, when they 'fixed' it they found a bit of packaging in there, but the noise remains.
But what I was really looking for is a good mechanic.
