So, we are meant to be going camping this weekend, so I figured I had best get the battery setup finished, and put in the driver's side edging for the drawers.

Remaining to be done is the lid for the rear storage compartment (just ran out of time to make it), and the actual drawer!!

The dual batteries are now set up and operational, with power running to the rear as below:

The items from bottom to top are Waeco power outlet, four fuse fuse-box, earthing peg (direct to negative on the second battery).

Second battery is a big AGM 100 amp/hour - heavy!!

A couple of minor issues installing the second side of the wings, but they should be hidden when I eventually carpet the top. All in all I'm pretty happy with my efforts... Total cost (excluding battery and fridge slide) around the $400 mark.

So... I've been lurking around the place for the past few years, but I'm still here, and still making very slow progress on my Dmax…

About 12 months ago I got some new Goodyear Wrangler Adventure All-Terrain 265/70/17LT tyres... I also picked up a matching alloy to replace the steel spare tyre.

The below picture shows the size difference between the new tyres and OEM...

After 12 months of driving (99% bitumen) they are still holding up well. Highly recommended for someone who wants a good on-road tyre with excellent strength and off-road capability.

I also finally got around to getting a bullbar... I settled on the AFN Type 3, supplied and installed by Wolf 4x4 at North Lakes Qld.

I did contemplate paying the extra $500 to get it colour coded, but decided that the black wouldn't look out of place (besides, the snorkel is black)… I think it looks pretty good!

Now I have mounting points, next up will be the UHF and a light bar.
