Redo , a mate fitted his 2nd Batt under the tray of his Dual Cab , a Deep cycle AGM , like you say probably no real need to get to it very often .

I have seen a Dmax with a Optima as a 2nd Batt under the bonett , didn't like the idea myself .

I have a Space Cab with tray , that gives me a bit more room to play with , I have a AGM Batt if front of the right back wheel and a fuel filter on the left in front of the wheel .

Your ute is coming along nicely

Spent a bit more time on the ute this weekend.

Finished off the dual battery install. I used an Intervolt solid state isolator, with a pretty standard installation, Narva 100 Amp fuses, 2 B&S cable etc. I made a bracket up which fits next to the existing battery, and will be fixing my primary fuel filter on the back of it (that’s what the holes at the top of the bracket are for). Time will tell how the additional battery goes mounted under the tray - if it becomes a problem I’ll just relocate it up on the tray when I get my canopy worked out.

I also fitted a 50 Amp Anderson plug into a Trailer Vision fitting to route power to the tray for my Engel.

Made up a bracket out of aluminium flat bar to mount a 2kg extinguisher at the front of the passenger seat.

Very nice mate, I've heard good things about those Intervolt isolators.

Might be an improvement on mine as I am on my third Projector isolator. The only way I knew it was faulty I have a crude voltage readout and I can see if it is charging. I've been told there was a faulty batch but hopefully the current one is OK.

I like the play on words,

"I hope the current one is ok"

Yes I thought I’d give the Intervolt one a go. They sound good on paper so it will be interesting to see how it performs over time. Someone has to be the guinea pig to try something different I suppose :)

So meggs did you hear that there was a bad batch of Intervolt isolators ?

No you read my post wrong, I was talking about Projecta isolators a completely different brand and is an electromechanical device. I was complaining about the isolator and advising that you should have a system of monitoring the battery charging voltage.
As far as I know the Intervolt Isolators looks good.

No worries thanks meggs. Yes I’ve read mixed reviews about the Projecta isolators.
