About time I started my own build thread as I have looked around most of the others on here and need to start mine.
List of stuff I have already done since having the car 1 year.
- ARB canopy and tub liner
- Custom Ali roof rack
- Foxwing
- Drifta Draws with MSA40 drop slide which has 38lt Engel eclipse, 55lt water tank under floor
- ARB on board air compressor the one for the air locker too
- Redarc BCDC 1240 dual battery system with 120amp deep cycle battery and 120w solar panel mounted on roof. Plenty of sockets in the ute and also ran a cable in to the cab for the kids DVD player to run of the battery instead of the car so I don't have to restart the DVD each time the car is turned of and on.
- MCC steel bull bar at a very good price

So far all this is for touring and camping with my 2" lift coming around Xmas time or before I hope to help with the weight I'm carrying and the caravan in tow.
Just got my light bar and GME to fit very soon if I find some time.

Another photo of the air compressor , deep cycle battery 120amp, fuse box and redarc BCDC1240 charger.
A cover goes over the battery and charger to protect it all.

Well I have finally got the 2" lift done just before Christmas but haven't had time to post it up yet, maybe the silly season has something to do with it haha.
I got King springs fitted to the front for weight to suit bull bar and the winch that will come soon.
I had tough dog 500kg constant load leaf springs fitted in the rear as I carry 515kg in the tub all the time.
Got tough dog foam cell shocks fitted all around 41mm bore.
Measurements are for centre of hub to the under guard, and also from bottom of rim too.

Drivers rear
Before- 505mm
After- 585mm
Before- 725mm
After- 805mm

Drivers front
Before- 520mm
After- 560mm
Before- 745mm
After- 785mm

Passenger rear
Before- 495mm
After- 585mm

Passenger front

After- 560mm
Before- 735mm
After- 775mm

Simon

It is just so much better comfort wise and handling.
I have noticed that the ute doesn't role as much when going around corners, comfort is really good considering the 500kg springs in the back.
The tough dog shocks are really great, but the test will come when i get to take it off road for a good test on the springs and shocks.
