if you can bolt the hoop on and off, its little more than a fashion accessory - it looks good and might offer a little protection to the lights against minor knocks though. Comes down to your personal preference!

Utes coming along nicely!

Looks good, and it definitely looks better with the loop on but would be great if you could take a pic further back for us as it's hard to get a good impression when it's so close.

Excuse my ignorance, but what make is this new b/bar?
Your LED lights..do they illuminate the country roads/tracks better than globes or you just want less draw on batteries?
I had an ARB steel bar and big Warne winch on my last Hilux...tended to make risky moves after fitting it..and always wondered what was happening with the chassis..maybe unnecessarily I guess.
Great looking vehicle.

The bar is a MCC rocker single loop Pedr888.
My mates call the lights possum killers as when you turn them on the possums eyes are burnt out and they fall from trees.
Deffinatly more spread than my old 175w HID's but distance is a little shorter. but you can see asfar as you need. The worse bit is the reflection from highway signs.

Hey Lightning,
What Brand is your canopy and roughly how much did it set you back?

Robbieando94 - Its not actually a canopy. its 2 tool boxes from my old tray back that i bought from repco.
Had to do some modifications and re-welding of the aliy and make some legs and then fitted to the tub.
Will post some photos for you.
Has a PVC tarp between them in caravan track at the moment thinking that i would be able to pull it out and put it easly but didn't work to well. :( thinking of making a hard ali top so i can mount solar panel on it. but still unscrew it if the height is needed.
