Hi All

New to this forum but just wanted to know if any MUX owners out there have had issues with inner guards cracking? I see there have been some issues with the older Dmax with posts from 2014, I would be interested to know what the fix was and if the Dealer covered it under warranty. My MUX has a Alloy bull bar fitted from Isuzu as part of the deal and I have a 2inch old man emu lift kit.

Make contact with this bloke viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2697

It happens to MUX's at the same frequency as DMax's

The fix is a total replacement of the inner guards, expect to pay around 10-15k for that and you have two chances of getting Isuzu to cover it under warranty...F all and none.

As pointed out in another thread in Fridays Herald Sun a report on problems with modern ute's "Isuzu owners have discovered cracks under the bonnet — near the suspension tower — in a number of current generation D-Max utes. Investigations are ongoing; some customers may be unaware of the potential flaw." Taken from here https://www.heraldsun.com.au/motoring/m ... 4b3b51e234

This is the upshot of my case.

I sued IUA in VCAT (Victoria) and reached a confidential settlement that I'm happy with.

The VCAT process is designed to make access to justice available to everyone. I found it user-friendly, efficient and affordable.

Any owner with cracks who wants a copy of the independent engineer's assessment of my vehicle can PM me. Include photos of your problem.

Examples of cracks reported on social media and to me privately by owners indicate that they can happen (or more accurately be noticed) on vehicles young or old and that were used a lot or a little offroad. A dealer reported that a steel bull bar was common to the cracked bodies he'd seen.

Is this the first sign of things to come ???
Finally got a set of AT's fitted to my Towtug today and the dealer pointed out the Splits through the front mount rubbers.
Straight around to the dealer to lodge a claim But on inspection he pointed out the Roo bar and suspension and said he didn't like my success but would keep me informed.
Maybe I should leave them alone and give the body and chassis a bit of play and save cracking the inner guards !!!!
The pic is on the passenger side. The tranny cooler pipes are on the left.
This would normally be hidden behind the bumper.
48K, No serious off road, Was expecting better.
FORD RAPTERS are able to fly Do THEY get Warranty ???

Towtug
I can’t see how the bar or suspension can cause that cracking. The upper rubber is subjected to compression sometimes and it appears the rubber is parting company because of that. Sort of indicates poor quality mounts. Maybe the same lower quality Isuzu is using from it’s turbo supplier. Some of them are failing too. If the quality isn’t there items will fail.

They did take pics of the bar and suspension . Lucky they never looked inside the cab as i have deep well floor mats.
Any excuse. Have to wait and see the outcome. Still a Great Vehicle.

Your dealers an idiot, they're not cracks you'll find that every DMax will have those, they're just creases that do a good impression of a crack and they were there from new on mine and just about everyone I looked at so don't stress about them. It's come up before and if you have them replaced it'll look the same very quickly. Here's a pic of mine when it was new. Relax.

Had a go at getting them out this morning but put it in the too hard basket for now until i hear back from Isuzu but won't hold my breath.
The bottom rubber is two piece but the top that is cracked is only one. It has an extension that drops down through the mount and into the bottom rubber which makes it hard to price out. Didn't want to put too much strain between the chassis and body. (Might crack it )

Go ahead and change them, you won't be the first one to waste your time doing so. Isuzu head office has probably seen this heaps of times and will just point out that they're creases not cracks.
