I believe the Besco transaxle is GL-3, I'm using a synthetic GL-4.

At any rate they differentiate between the MSG transmission being able to take an engine oil and the MUX which doesn't.

Anyway I hope mine fails during the warranty period if it's going to die

Well just got back from 10 days on Fraser Island & while there had some serious squealing coming from the thing under the bonnet of all the time but 1st & 2nd gear as per this post ! It has done it once or twice since being home. Belts all look good and tight, my question is if it is a gear box issue does it do it all the time or occasionally. Hopefully just a wet belt.

A squeal may be the belts. Tightness isn't the governing factor though. IF,
your aircon, water pump, pulley idler and crank pulley are on a V belt and the crank, alt and water pump is run by a 7 PK BELT, after a while the V wears and becomes lower in the groove and therefore less rotation than the 7PL is forcing the fan V faces to be faster than the rate of the V belt transport from the crank pulley. That causes squeal at the V in the water pump V groove. New belt fixes it. Alternatively a shorter belt which only runs from water pump groove to idler and aircon also removes the out of synch of the two different belt drive systems.

The gearbox issue doesn't really sound like a wet or loose fan belt, no way could it be mistaken for that, it's more of a buzzing screechy noise and most noticeable at around 2000 rpm and sometimes even at idle. If you search the forum you will find more info but don't overly concern yourself with it if it is the dreaded 5th gear synchro noise as it's harmless and in some cases (like mine) the new parts won't fix it anyway.

Thanks mydmax & Dan, definitely not all the time so sounds like a squealing belt. Obviously I am no mechanic I stick to pin striping restoration!!
Thinking about it could have even been squealing from one of the boys in the back seat because of the tough fishing conditions.

Joined to post what i know about the manual noise. Sorry for the necro post. I have a 2014 D-Max and the noise started while still under warranty ~100k mostly highway driving. Local Isuzu dealer refused to look at it but hinted at knowing what the issue was, "oh its ok, don't worry". About six months out of warranty it got worse, and after another 12 months i had it pulled out after trying oil changes etc. The gearbox specialist i used thought it was the 5th gear issue as noted elsewhere. Checked it all and then replaced the syncros. After a week the noise started again, gearbox specialist wanted to wait until it was really bad before pulling it apart again. Still have it as my second work ute, and was informed this week that it is getting bad, have to go quickly into third from second to avoid the noise. It sometimes used to also happen when dropping out of gear and rolling to a stop. What i am lead to believe as he has fixed another one since mine is that there is a press fit bearing on the font housing, which is firm when cold, but when heats up spins, leading to the noise. This is why it slowly gets worse, yet when pulled apart it looks "ok". We will be pulling the gearbox out again soon, so i will post an update.

To be honest Isuzu shafted me a few times on warranty while I had the D-Max as my primary vehicle. Things like paint issues were refused because of "timing", even though a friend of mine who works in the industry agreed it was a manufacturing issue. But why i won't buy another D-Max and avoided them for my new ute is the gearbox issue, the local dearly clearly knew what the issue was and refused to do anything about it. Which is a pity as I really couldn't fault the vehicle apart from that.

Sounds like you need to find another dealer.
