I have a scangauge and if you repeatedly press on of the four uppermost buttons it will cycle through all presented info and then simply leave it showing and move to another button and do the same to get the display in that corner to show what you need.

If your vehicle doesn't have the EGT probe just after the turbo ie, a DPD filter model then it doesn't have a probe to send info to the ECU. If probe is there then it should work with the code.

Volts on mine is set by cycling the particular corner button until voltage appears.

Coolant water temp is shown as CWT, if same as mine.

I'll have a crack at that, cheers mate.

That worked a treat, I have a screen showing the ATF, CWT and Volts, all I need now is the EGT or car is a 2016 MY 15 so I'm going that it has the probe for the exhaust has temp.
Can anyone help me out with the code for the Scangauge to read it????
Cheers, Kanga..

Does yourshave theEGT probe? It is easily seen just rear of the turbo housing. It sticks up in the air from where it is screwed into the exhaust dump pipe immediately after the turbo. If it isn’t fitted then there won’t be any temp info sent to ECU. Not sure when they changed to EGT sensing and DPF/D. But they two are related. If yours doesn’t have a Diesel particulate filter then it probably hasn’t got the temp probe.

I'll have a look for the probe tomorrow, what would be a maximum temp reading that you really wouldn't want to see?

The probe if there, is very obvious.
The exhaust temp maximum should not exceed 500C measured after the turbo. Preferrably less under full load/boost.
The ECU is programmed to only supply the boost and fuel to limit such events anyway and unless something was way out of whack, the exhaust temp won’t get to dangerous levels because Isuzu have made it so.
Mine is a previous shape and working at full boost and power it has only once got to slightly above 450C. The ECU parameters control it all.
If an auto, under similar situations the auto would likely change down if load is high and that reduces the load and boost as it should.

Cheers.

Just checked under the bonnet and I don't have a probe in the exhaust where you said it would be. Bugger.

My Ultragauge is on a windscreen mount, but sits well forward on the dash. I sit my cap on it so it never gets any sun and I don't have to contend with glare on the screen. In this position it's right in my line of sight without obstructing anything.

Did you get that to work with your transmission?

Hi Danno,

Yep, the 58 at the top left is ATF temp. I'm working through a range of different parameters I can track, by taking the ScanGauge codes and translating them to UltraGauge. I'll publish a spreadsheet when I have it all worked out.

On the page on the picture above, I have ATF Temp, Kph, Engine Temp, Volts to ECU, KM from Service and KM from Oil Change.

The UltraGauge MX is a great unit and has 7 or 8 (can't remember which) programmable gauges, along with the usual plethora of standard stuff. I'm still getting my head around most of it! :ugeek:

Cheers
Geoff

Hi Geoff,
I see in your post you are working on a spreadsheet for the ultraguage programming, have you done this yet?
If you have I would be really interested in getting a copy.
I plugged my new ultraguage in today and it works but I get a lot of err next to readings from my 2014 dmax.
Basically no info on and from page 2
Cheers,
Gil
