So looking around for bars for a 2017 dmax, and came across the MCC phoenix bar. there doesn't appear to be many around and photos of one fitted are scarce. Does anyone have one? Or photos of a fitted unit?
Looking through the forum for info on pre 2017 dmax's it is my opinion that the MCC/Dobinson ones are the only "standard" style of bulbar which do not look hideous. Cant bring myself to go with an ARB boatanchor and they cannot tell me when/if they will come out with a Summit bar to suit Dmax

cheers

Haven't seen any on the max but plenty on other vehicles,so design will be similar, I'm waiting for the ARB Summit I reckon they look great. How much is the bar your looking at as obviously the arb one will be 9million dollars.

Tbey are on ebay for 1790 for the black one or 1890 for the one with the polished stainless hoops. They certainly look ok to me and they claim the stainless hoops are welded to the bar, rather than flimsily bolted on like an ironman.

The price certainly has crept up however approaching arb. I thought the previous gen mcc bars were like 1300

Wish they would post some pics and bloody wish arb would hurry up!

Both bars are way too heavy, the ARB will be over 70kg and the MCC not far behind.

what is your suggestion Danno?

I also like to ECB alloy bar and it is very strong for an alloy bar. but roo strikes are what I am most concerned about. if it wasn't for them it would be hard to say no to an alloy

The smart bars are also light, but Cosmetically the summit is what I like. Havent hit a roo for 20 years so no real need I suppose. The latest I heard is the summit is almost ready for the dmax facelift, then they will look at 12-17 so who knows how long that will take, maybe a nudge bar to mount the spotties on in the meen time
