Yep they claim stock , I would like to have a close look at those Utes

That crunch sound at 1.23 coming out of that water splash , I know what that sounds like , probably not but bloody hell its sure sounds like it .

They call that a big water splash and they need a modified snorkel .

I've been watching a fair few from different series.

They don't mind telling what breaks n things tht go wrong.
Haven't heard one cv.

These guys really putting them through there paces and everyone keeps saying the dmax is proving to be a really reliable car.
Good to see. Not that I'll be jumping mine anytime soon

Would the UK Dmax have the 2.5 Twin Turbo motor , not that , that means anything but there could be
other differences .

Happy to be corrected on this but don't the 2.5 litre Dmax's have a different 6 speed gearbox which means they could possibly have the outputs a little further forward?

They only ever had the 2.5 in the current shape.

Guy's just my 2 cents but the company I work for now as of last week has about 10 dmax all lifted running heavy gear as they drive power line tracks so I asked our mechanics their thoughts. Their opinion was they all break if you drive them hard enough! We also have many more Hilux and the boy's showed me a cabinet with half a dozen spare cv's for when it goes wrong with them. Food for thought though they said cv's were much cheaper and easier to replace than diffs in the Landcruisers & clutches in the Patrols!!

Yep Steve that is all true ,but did you actually watch the video and hear my CV break , there is no way you could call that hard , it's a track I would take any stock std 4wd straight off the show room floor .

In fact it's a track I have taken many inexperience young blokes , ( some not so young ) that have never driven their 4wd's in the bush , they have never had any problems , no white knuckle stuff at all .

Its the second CV , I have broken in almost the exact same circumstances , I have said it before but will say it again , I have been driving those track for over 40 years , in recent years there has been a massive amount of money spent upgrading the tracks , they have never been in better Nic .

I'm dumb struck at just how easy these CV broke , the more I research and ask questions , I'm finding more and more Dmax that have broken CV's .

I would be interested in what your company mechanics think of Dmax Diff , CV setup , the centre of the wheel being forward of the diff , if next time they have one on the hoist , get them to turn the wheel lock to lock and see what they think of the CV angles .

I know it might seem like I'm obsessed with these bloody CV's , I guess I am but look at it from my point of view , I thought this Dmax would do everything my other 4wd's have done , equally as good

I have only been bush 6 or 7 times in really easy country since I bought it and had 2 breakages .

If there is a solution to this problem , I really need to find it .

Sas front end be a good solution lol!!

Every single dmax mechanic I've asked seems oblivious to the diff bein set back.

Probably been told to act dumb bout it.
