Best to work out if they are "globes" or LED's" because. As Mike says, one isn't polarity sensitive and the other IS. Did you test the faulty one with 12v current/voltage both ways to check it? Diodes which are claimed to be good for 50,000hrs CAN be faulty after a few hours of use.
