Re: Rear axle cracked

Hello Chris Me again, because there is oil there means there IS a crack, no suspect at all. It will be because of compression flexing of the axle tube where it meets the spring pad. There is a sudden change of cross section at that point. Straight away I searched. If you search google for "Dmax axle...

Re: trans cooler location

What is the ID of the coolers tubes you are looking at? Bigger means longer times/lower flow through, to get rid of heat. Two small units will restrict the flow a bit especially if the ID of the tubes is insufficient in size. Why block the lower gap with auto coolers. Won't 1 be sufficient seeing yo...

Re: trans cooler location

With a cooler of sufficient ID tube size the flow through it will be slower and therefore provide greater time to cool hot fluid. If the cooler is in the HOT line from the auto before the radiator heat exchanger, the fluid temp is highest and has far greater ability to use the cooler as a dissiaptor...

Re: Changing CV boot

If you wash the shaft at the spider you might find there is a thin round section circlip to hold it in place on the drive shaft. With small pointy probes and small screw drivers you can ease it off the shaft. Just a thought.

Re: Engine hesitates when cold.

Because you were able to substitute the MAF for another as a test, can you also exchange the MAP to see if any difference. I don't suspect the MAP as being the issue since it would be all the time. They are usually reliable. Most electronic items which are sus, are nearly always worse when hot and o...

Re: Engine hesitates when cold.

Nearly all it's life the Manifold Absolute Pressure / sensoris really reading manifold boost pressure, so vacuum isn't required. Boost reading in mine can be up round 10 psi at times. I think, haven't checked, there is three wires. Obviously + 5v probably and - too. The third will read a differing v...

Re: Engine hesitates when cold.

If the valves have ever been adjusted I would be first checking the wiring loom and the plug for integrity of connection to the MAP. Reason. The wiring may have been damaged or pinched and fractured by the "mechanic" or it has simply fatigued the wires somewhere near where movement of loom occurs, E...

Re: Engine hesitates when cold.

There is no Waste Gate on these vehicles. They have a director ring to aim the exhaust gas at varying angles to the exhaust turbine wheel vanes. The vacuum is varied in the small piping to the chamber and it will/should vary it to meet the boost asked for by engine running conditions. I am not sure ...

Re: Engine hesitates when cold.

If you have used your sensor in another engine and it is OK, and then used his sensor in your engine system, then logically the sensor cannot be issue. The pattern does not follow. I would not be suspecting the MAF at all. If possible, use a scan tool to find if any codes exist, if a code exists the...

Re: 2020 D Max Steering is dangerous

Not sure if the new Mazda BT50 has similar or same system, I expect it has much the same and haven't heard of problems by Mazda owners. The TV ad for the BT50 says, "IT'S SMART", is the Isuzu dumb?
