Hi, did you ever work out what was the cause of the Code P0234, with Engine check light and limp mode.
I have the exact same intermittent problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

A check revealed a code indicating overboost at some point or time. If driven quietly and oil from blowby has clogged up the director ring in the turbo exit it may stick sometimes and allow more boost to be developed than normal. A good loaded run may cure that, ie, get it hot to burn out the rubbish which may cause sticking. What oil quality do you use? A dealer may not fill with decent oil and cause more blowby fumes etc which is carbon in the burn in cylinders. It is possible the boost sensor is faulty or perhaps the wiring plug is loose and periodically not sending proper voltage reading to ECU.
The turbo has a vacuum operated boost control chamber. It !ay be sticking sometimes and not controlling the internal turbo vane ring properly.
