screw holes for roof racks on D-Max SX

I just talked to Mister Roofracks, who told me that most model D-Max have screw holes under the rubber strips on the roof, for fitting a roof rack. But he said SX poverty pack does not have screw holes. We looked up fitting instructions for several brands of roofracks, some a bit ambiguous, but definitely some evidence of not being able to put screws in. Like, extra rivets, SX not mentioned on the diagram with screws, etc.

So the question. Has anybody with an SX found they do / don't have screw holes under the rubber?

Pull the strips off and have a look, the threaded holes are pretty obvious. Then double sided tape the strips back on

Yeah theres no screw holes on sx models had to get door mounting clip on ones for mine

Yeah I suggested that, the guy made a big deal of I'll never get the double sided tape to stick again. I'll give it a go.

I just had this same issue with my Sx2015. ARB went to fit their rack and there is no holes at all.

ARB are investigating with head office as to why this model setup still came up in there listings as being able to be done and if there is any solution. We both thought it was just my car that had them missing as it was a Xmas day build.

All that was there was spot weld markings where the roof rack mount holes would be. Now the black strip wont stay down.

Anyone had any luck with drilling and plating holes in the channel for a rack??

On a slightly different tack then. Do the other models (LSM & LSU) have a screw point then ?

I've never heard of a car company not fitting basic things like this to a base model when available on a higher spec, but nothing much is going to surprise me with this bunch of mugs we bought these cars from
What makes it stranger is the base models are often what the tradies buy for work and they have no provision for roof racks???

The 2011 LSm does not have any roof holes, until I drilled 7 per side and fitted Rhino rack channel to it.
Large pop rivets with Sikaflex to grab and seal the strip in the roof channel.
