I used Rimula R3x until 10,000km then this:

I've been told UOA will tell me 20,000km is ok, but I'm doing 10,000km/6 months OCI.

It is hard to understand how these companies come up with their oil change intervals sometimes. When I purchase this D-Max I will do a 500k, 5000k, 10000k then 20000k then every 10000k after that using synthetics from the 5000k oil change and from then onwards. All with filter changes. I plan on keeping this vehicle for 20 years. Money well spent if your keeping the vehicle for a very long time. I suppose if you change out vehicles every few years it doesn't matter that much. It won't be your problem, it will make no difference to you but future owners may find different. That is my opinion on the oil change intervals but opinions are like a** holes, everyone has one. Oil choices is another.

Too right Goody, not a chance I'd leave it 10k let alone bloody 20?? What's it take to drop your oil? 1/2 hour? (Unless you drive a Ranger and it's 9 minutes or it blows up! LOL)Pretty cheap peace of mind.Ill be going Delo 400 at 7.5k. What's next 30,000 intervals?

I did 1000km, 3500, 7200 then synthetic at 10k.

I also did rear diff and box at 3500 with nylon synthetic and then both diffs, box and transfer at 7800 with the appropriate Amsoil synthetics.

That also applies to the BT50 as well. As long as it is known and appropriate action taken, all good.

I changed mine yesterday at 5000km and it was black as  20,000km is crazy.
My old Navara was the same until I blocked the EGR.

I do it every 10,000

Once i told them that the main driving was stop start 9kms each way to the city he actually made a note in the computer in my dmax file that the oil and filter is to be changed every 10,000 under servere operating conditions requirement

Spoke with the castrol tech people, they advised magnatec professional 5w40 or 15w40, or magnatec diesel 15w40. Then the local castrol rep advised me magnatec diesel 5w40 c3 which is dpf safe... now im confused lol...we run magnatec diesel 15w40 in my bosses rc collie and must say at 5000km the oil is still clean
