For those interested, in the engine bay fuse box is a black wire with a red trace. It is a reverse feed. On the autos there isnt a reverse light switch as its thru the inhibitor switch.. makes life a little easier

Old thread, I know..
Are you sure? I tried testing continuity on all wires in engine bay fuse box to the backup light, but found none. Maybe I was not thorough enough.

Try fuse 10 on the interior fuse box.

Usually a fuse is a supply to the circuit to be protected and Is Not the switched supply which a downstream device relies on, ie, for a reverse camera. While there may well be a wire in a fuse box or close by which is switched by reverse being selected, the supply off a fuse for that circuit cannot be the desired wire to turn on a reverse beeper or camera. Typically, the fuse isn"t downstream of the switch. It is at the beginning to "Protect".

Trigger wire for rear camera in ISUZU MUX base model 2019

Post by ragger »

I am planning to hook up a rear camera for isuzu mux base model 2019 since this model has no factory reversing camera but do have a built-in socket for aftermarket camera which I had bought together with a camera socket RCA adapter.. Now the problem is I don't know where to tap in the red wire, which attach with the RCA video input cable of the aftermarket camera, to the proper trigger wire to enable the stereo head unit to display the rear camera video feed.. There is a white socket with single green wire at the back of the head unit. IS THIS THE TRIGGER WIRE for the camera video feed for this Isuzu base model 2019?

G,day Ragger
On the vehicle there will be reversing lights. Two wires to each. One side is earth, ie. Negative. The other is the supply to the light. If you connect to that wire which becomes positive when reverse is selected, a thin wire can be run to the head unit for switching the camera function.. That wire can also power the reverse camera if needed to.

Thanks for the reply Sir.. yes I know that power setup for powering the rear camera ,,however I want know the correct trigger wire since I have an aftermarket camera connected to the RCA socket adapter since Isuzu mux 2019 has no factory camera but do retain a harness with rear camera socket(but need an RCA adapter to connect with most aftermarket camera) and the harness includea a single green wire with socket(Is this the Trigger wire?).. I tried to connect the camera with the RCA video-in adapter and test connect with the power source of my USB charger hook-up to the fuse box using fuse tap.. but no video feed from the rear camera seen in the screen monitor. From my research in YouTube, you need to hook-up the red power cable attached with the RCA video-in adapter to a trigger wire for the video monitor to detect the video feed from the rear camera..
