Engine not starting - P00CF Barometric Pressure

Post by ATFS__RZ4E »

Hi!

Impossible to start the engine again: P00CF Barometric Pressure - turbocharger/supercharger boos sensor 'A' correlation.

This is an Europen RZ4E diesel engine, 1.9l with EGR, DPF. I just mounted the turbo because it was leaking oil into the intake. A turbo specialist changed the bearing/sealing. Than I also cleaned up the intercooler and the intake with petrol and oven cleaner. The engine had a hard time coming to life after cleaning but it finally started. Only the P00CF showed up, Engine went to limp mode but I made a first test ride. After stopping the engine it never came back to life, only P00CF is showing up. Any ideas? I even cannot find that barometric pressure sensor! Where is it?

I haven't seen one of those engines but the MAP sensor, ie, the thing which detects boost pressure relative to atmospheric pressure, will be built into the ducting as airflow enters the inlet manifold. A three wire device. If contaminated with carbon and oil rubbish from the turbo problem, it may be not sensing and perhaps not giving the normal sensing volage to the ECU.

Thanks man! Yeah I bought a new MAP sensor and mounted it on the intake. It is a hell of work with the EGR on top of it. I guess I have to check that one...

Solution: There were two things wrong here. First, I bought a new MAP sensor with a non compatible wiring which caused the P00CF code. Second, I had a Steinbauer fuel injection tuning box which just broke! That caused the not starting engine.
