It's the MX 1.3, which has been around for some time now and it seems to be very solid in its operation.

Now, as to my accuracy test! I had the same concerns as you so my mate (D-Max LSM with the same ATF cooler, but with scangauge) and I drove down the freeway together and we were within a couple of degrees of each other. Now before you scientist types arc up, I know it was a most unscientific test, but plus or minus a few degrees was enough to tell me the codes and math were correct in the UG programming.

I put it on top of the dash, still okay after a 40 plus day in the sun yesterday. Don't have to look down to check my speed now.

I bought one of the suppliers windscreen suction cup mounts for my Scangauge which is mounted near the A pillar.
Good sturdy mount that hasn't come off in over a year that I've had it. I have re - calibrated the Scangauge speedo to be accurate against a gps and use that without having to look down whilst also watching the ATF temps

You need the 1.3 version to do it, the 1.2 version most of us have won't which is why the 1.3 is regarded as the experimental model, because you can experiment on it..

Well, I mistakenly asked for Non-CAM GM, but that was not good as the D-Max seems to comply with the GM CAN codes, although the UltraGauge support guys reckon it doesn't. However, I have had most success by translating the GM CAN codes on the ScanGauge site, to work with the UltraGauge.

The UltraGauge automatically detects the D-Max as CAN 11 Bit.

I've fiddled with the CANSF codes, but they don't seem to fit.

I'm interested in it or the scan Guage, as I want to watch Auto temps - I have the old shape dmax with the 4 speed auto - will both give the auto temps

Well, both the Scangauge II and Ultragauge mx 1.3 can monitor ATF temp, but I have no specific information on a 2010 D-Max, although the Scangauge compatibility chart says it supports all 2010 vehicles. It also states that Australia mandated use of ODBII for all diesel vehicles as of 2007, so you should be safe.

It just gets down to personal choice and I'm very happy with my Ultragauge mx 1.3 as it was cheaper, has a bigger, more flexible display and can be programmed with more custom gauges. The only programmable gauge that I'm interested in though, is ATF temp. Goodness knows why you would want some of them, but they're there. The UG comes with a plethora of gauges which it uses by default once it detects your OBDII type. More than likely, yours will be CAN 11 Bit like mine, but you might want to verify that.

What mounting options did people order when buying the ultra Guage

When set up with velcro on a hard surface you can just push on the front of the unit to operate the buttons which are on the back, stops you having to position it in a way you have to be able to get your fingers around the back.
