New Dmaxer

Post by Bairdy380 »

Gday all, coming across to here from the hilux forum/owner.
Hopefully get the xterrain in the next week or so and begin the next build. Lots planned, but not as much available on the market as I want yet (especially suspension and dual batts)
A lot to learn and hopefully a lot to share.
Cheers

Welcome. ARB and TJM have a reasonably wide range of accessories. Other brands are becoming available in the near future so things are looking better. Dual battery either behind rear seat or in tub, no room under bonnet.

Hi Bairdy and welcome.

My comment is to do with your suspension, if you are considering getting the GVM upgrades I suggest that you get it done by the dealer before it is registered. If you have it done later it is much more complicated that having it done pre rego.

I had mine done as part of the purchase and it was the first thing that was done. This way the engineering is based on the stock standard car whereas doing it later the engineering will need to allow for any extras you have already added. Also having it done pre rego, it is recorded on a national database and is recognised Australia wide, post rego is only recognised in your home state and if you move to another state you will need to have it re-engineered for that state.

I had everything except the solar panels included in the original purchase and the prices were past straight onto me without any dealer mark-up.
2014 LST Ash Beige. SMM Steel canopy, Outback Drawers, dual battery with 2 x 160W solar panels (keeps the beers nice and cold), 135L tank, TJM T15 alloy bar with Xray-vision LED lights, Dumbo Clearview Mirrors. The ultimate tow truck.

Welcome to the Dmax forum.
I have my second battery mounted to chassis.
Plenty of options plenty to spend.
Look forward to your fully sick build.

Contacting a few mobs currently to see what fruit I can get to start hanging off what I have labelled "the Trump" or "Donald" (Yep I got a volcanic amber...ie orange)

Good work Bairdy. The Dmax will do good for you like Trump did for America, now in freefall with the Demo's.
