2 inch tough dog

Post by gmax »

Noticed lately a bad kind of like a groaning noise/ clunking

Only when turning. Sounds like something is shifting side to side I can only narrow it down to leaf packs

It's starting to really shit me. Dunno how to stop

Probably the noise is the body mounts. My 2011 does that from time to time. Must look at it and tighten or pack the mounts with a washer etc.

Yeh I thought it was tub mounts but all seems fine there.

I've tightend up the u bolts because they where a Lil loose.
Kept doin it. So I sprayed some lubricant on the rubber mounts in the leafs.

If it keeps goin I'll take it back

Hi gmax,

I had a similar issue with my 2'' outback armour pack, no clunking but lots of squeaking and metal to metal sound. Engineers @ AO spent 4.5 hrs pulling hole spring pack apart and it turned out to be nothing more than little plastic shrouds on the spring retainers that had come of with flexing of the suspension.
They drilled and taped the retainers so they wont move and now incorporate this into their suspensions. They also said the lighter and more set up for flex the units are the more tendency for leaf packs to walk and move. Heavy packs like 300kg and on have much larger and more spring retainers so don't walk as much. (or flex as much)
Not sure if this is your problem but worth a look.
Cheers,

Steve
