I can't imagine a leaf spring to be so troubled and professionals so incapable of finding a fault. ANY problem should be easily determined by the simplest of mechanical intellects. The, going to the next level of investigation is so common in the industry. After a few times of going higher and higher you may actually get to a person who knows something about semi elliptical leaf springs. They are a complex item. Even used more than 130 years ago, so people/someone might have them sussed by now.

Mu mechanic has worked it out and I've told them over n over again.
The first rep denied everything even though his own mechanic told me that they knew there was a problem

Then I got a replacement set of the same Springs which where the problem anyway so nothing had changed
But now I gotta go to another tough dog rep so they can throw their 2 cents in.
I just want it fixed n I Wanna stop havin to pay for the inconvenience especially when it's not my fault

Is the noise there on all roads or only dirt or rougher roads , you say your mechanic reckons he knows what the problem is , what is it ?

The top leaf isn't retained properly and it just slaps around

The carrier leaf was actually wearing away from movement on the safety leaf
That's y I put tht rubber bump stop in to try stop it

Gmax mate , I would at least go and talk to Ray at Morwell Spring Works
There has been plenty of problems / issues with ARB / OME suspension.
It took bloody months to get mine sorted

It's a long story if you go search through the suspension thread you should be able to read all about it .

I wanted a GVM upgrade when I bought the Ute and ARB were the only ones doing one at the time
or I would of got my suspension done at Morwell.

He can do a Lovells GVM upgrade now for the Dmax , but if all you want is a better setup without a GVM , he will use the original springs add a leaf or 2 , depending on how much weight you intend carrying.

Its best to fit all the crap , Bars , Winch , 2nd battery all the stuff you intend to carry camping on a trip and then take it to him .
